About Jacque

Hi, there! Thanks for dropping by my site.

When I was 8, I told everyone I was going to be an author and illustrator, crafting images and designs for my own stories. By the age of 14, however, I realized I couldn’t draw even after taking one-on-one drawing lessons. My dreams of being an illustrator dissipated quickly, but my desire to write and tell stories anchored itself deeply in my soul.

Throughout my life, writing became a healthy outlet to express my deepest emotions and make sense of the world, especially in times of severe depression and anxiety. Through writing about my own story of struggling with mental illness, doing ministry on the streets of Chicago, and having a reversion to the Catholic faith, I learned the power of story and how expressing your story in a creative and vulnerable manner can inspire and connect you with others.

As you can tell from my writing, I’m not afraid to dive into the messy parts of life. Whether its on my podcast or here on my site, I like to explore difficult topics in order to shed light into areas often laced with shame to create an environment of vulnerability and healing.

We all have a story that deserves to be told. We all deserve to be seen. And I’m honored that you have taken the time to visit this site where I share parts of my own story.

I created this site to talk about the things I care about: mental health, my faith, psychology, relationships, books, and more. I also love to share the stories of others who inspire me. In a world filled with so much darkness and division, I hope this can be a place of light, hope, and authenticity.

With love,

Jacque
